The original funding provided $50 million for Special Education Teacher Residency Programs and $25 million for STEM or Bilingual Teacher Residency Programs. The funds for STEM/Bilingual Residency programs have been allocated to the current residency programs but there is additional funding for new or expanded Teacher Residency Programs in Special Education Teacher Preparation. The Request for Proposals (RFP) is now available, and proposals must be received by the Commission by 5:00 PM PDT, on Friday, April 3, 2020 . The applying LEA must have a strong collaboration with a student teaching based Special Education teacher preparation program approved by the Commission.
